Be Prepared!
Whether it's a winter storm, spring flood, summer heat, or just visitors, most Montana families know how to prepare for the unexpected. They have necessary supplies on hand and they talk to family and friends about their back-up plans.
Northwest Healthcare would like everyone in the community to be prepared no matter what the season. The two guides referenced below were published earlier this year by the Montana Department of Health & Human Services and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Both provide helpful tips for Montana families on being prepared for all types of emergencies and natural disasters. Because the of the recent concern about "bird flu" in the news, the CDC guide may help you learn more about this desease and how it might affect our local community.
Kalispell Regional Medical Center and the affliliate organizations of Northwest Healthcare take part in regular emergency planning sessions and rehearsal exercises. Because of this training, we are able to respond quickly to healthcare events in our community and have good cooperation with local fire, rescue, and county agencies.
Please take advantage of this information. Read the guides, and start preparing a household emergency plan. And most importantly, talk to friends and family about your plans and ask questions. Thank you for taking the time to plan ahead and be prepared!
