The International Heart Institute of Montana

Kalispell Regional Medical Center is proud to be affiliated with The International Heart Institute of Montana.  The institute, based in Missoula, brings together an internationally recognized team of cardiologists, heart surgeons, and researchers from St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center and the University of Montana.  This collaboration allows physicians and scientists to perform the most advanced cardiac procedures and to search for new and improved ways to treat heart disease.

Open heart surgery was first offered at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in April 2001, and 70 to 80 surgeries are performed here each year.  Dr. Walter Graves, the cardiac surgeon, provides full-time coverage for services needed by patients and families in the Flathead Valley, including pre-operative consultation and post-operative follow up at IHI offices in Kalispell.  Dr. Graves performs surgery both in Kalispell and Missoula, as do all the IHI surgeons.

The International Heart Institute understands that families and loved ones have unique needs and concerns and are an important part of the healing process. Our specialists, nurses and staff are committed to keeping patients and their families informed throughout the process. We make sure your questions are answered and your family's needs are met, not just during hospitalization but before and after surgery as well.

At The International Heart Institute of Montana at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, we're making a difference in people's lives in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.  Dr. Graves and staff can be reached at 210 Sunnyview Lane, Suite 107 in Kalispell, (406) 751-5706.
