A.L.E.R.T. Air Ambulance

Prompt medical attention is crucial when a serious injury or illness occurs. The ALERT air ambulance provides fast assistance when the rugged terrain of northwestern Montana makes it difficult or impossible for ground crews to respond.

ALERT is more than just a helicopter. It is our system of mobile medical care that includes specially trained emergency personnel, sophisticated lifesaving and communications equipment and the support of Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Through a cooperative venture between KRMC and a community-based board of directors, we receive funding through insurance, private pay, private donations, and an annual fund-raising banquet.

We are very proud that ALERT was the first rural air ambulance service in America.

In 2004, a special relationship was forged with Native Air (OMNI Flight) of Mesa, Arizona, to complement our A.L.E.R.T. program’s helicopter service with a Pilatus PC-12, when weather grounds the rotor craft or it has already been dispatched on a mission.  Native Air will also provide the long-range critical-care transport of a fixed wing air service to our community.
